Sewing

I love to sew, is a passion of mine. Im not the best seamstress but what I lack in expertise I make up for in enthusiasm!
Here I will add my current projects, how I created them and how they turned out. So come join my sewing adventures, add your own thoughts and comments.

I just realised that I have only two projects on this page. That is sad.. sewing is such a big part of my life. Well I am going to cruise my computer and see what I can find of projects I have done. So grab a coffee and settle in, its time for a journey... back in time... oooohhhh (feel it yet? nah? oh well it was worth a try)
Here are the drindle's that I made for our family photo's one year. Its not weird as it seems, we were living in Germany at the time AND its normal to wear things like that, honest. See? not so weird after all. :0)

Here are the two first projects I did on my new sewing machine. Love that thing! The dresses were from the same pattern, so to change it up for my little one, I added a petticoat and mixed up the material. They love those dresses and complained when they grew out of them.
Oh my monsters... Love these two. The pattern was for a top and a skort. I, of course "Jen'ed" them out. But they are pretty close to the original pattern.

A simple summer dress and a wrap skirt made out of linen. The skirt has no pattern, I made it up as I went and it turned out pretty good I must say.

This dress secretly hated me. The material is super soft and thin and just wanted to tear at every corner. I had to build a corset into the top to hold it all together and actually made button holes!! thats a first for me. The dress looks a tad frumpy on the model, but its more Alice in Wonderland when you are wearing it. I also made a pink crinoline petticoat for it to help with the fun flirty swing skirt. (say that fast five times)

Here are the dresses for my brother's wedding. The white material has a beautiful rose embroidered on it so it adds some texture to the dress. I made petticoats for them in soft netting too. The green of the bolero and sashes are the same green that went onto my dress (see below) so we all matched.

These aren't clothing, obviously. I made them for the girls after Daddy had to head off to war again. I screened on a picture of each of them with Daddy onto the teddies belly. I made them big and flat so they could be used as pillows and I soaked the stuffing with his cologne so it smelled like him when they hugged it. These babies got alot of use that year.

Nother dress without a pattern, well actually both pictures here have no pattern. The girl's pj's are a creation of my own too.

This lovely blanket was for a friend and it is HUGE! it could easily hang over the edge of a king size bed. It was fun to make, but I am glad its over with. :0)

So there you go. Most all of my recent sewing creations. I know there are a couple of dresses that I didnt photograph. Why? I dont know, but I will pull them out and add them to the pile one of these days. But, please, for the love of God... don't hold your breath!!!

**Newer Projects**
Project #1
So I have had this amazing material for about 4 years.
I have this need to create new dresses AND vintage styles are my favorite styles. Soo, the other day I decided that I needed to use that poor neglected material. I had a dress in highschool that was a vintage 50's wiggle dress and man did I love that thing. I literally wore it to shreds. I cried when i had to throw it away. Anyways I made this new dress in homage to that one.
I didnt have a pattern (but I did take photos of each step if anyone is interested) but for a trial run I think I did pretty well. Cant wait for a reason to wear it. Oh and as you guessed the material is the opposite on the reverse, this yummy buttery gold with purple flowers running through it. I really was tempted to make the gold, but where is a girl, in this day and age, to wear a gold dress???

Project #2
This is a dress I made for my brothers wedding over the summer. It was a horribly complicated dress to create. I hated it by the time I finished it. But the dress came out nicely, oh did I mention I was the matron of honor? ya.. no pressure or anything.
