Cold Drinks
I have tried a few of these with my large (normal sized) blender and so far its just ok. The flavor is yummy but the consistency is just… well wrong. I have done them without ice and just made in the shaker like the directions state and that works just fine. But I am going to get the magic bullet style blender in my next order and I will update if that makes them better. I will add separately each flavor if I find, enjoy any recipes specific to that flavor.
*Update* the new blender Rocks!! It does just what it claims to, and so far it reliably crushes ice to my hearts content. :0)
Strawberry~ Not bad, just add extra crushed ice, maybe a tsp of vanilla to round out the flavor. All in all yummy.
Orange Blend ~ This is yummy. Tastes like tang but not as sweet, really refreshing! I would recommend you try it at least once hot. (that’s how I prefer it) just don’t and I mean DON’T put it in the microwave!!! It curdles like eggs, ick. But if you add hot, boiling water to the mixture you are in the clear. I do prefer the paste method with this one, just to help get rid of the grit, but there really isn’t much grit, honest. :0)
Dutch Chocolate ~This is good with the added water and then a bunch of ice, in my medifast blender. I am still working out the exact amount of ice to add, but its personal anyways, play till you are happy.
Dark Chocolate ~
This, like the others is yummy with just the water and ice added. For a special treat sometimes I will add a teaspoon of a no sugar coffee syrup. Rasberry or mint, carmel or French vanilla.. yumm!
Cappuccino, Chai Latte
Cappuccino ~
Don’t just follow the instructions on this one. It doesn’t mention that if you don’t take an extra step it will be lumpy and gritty. Add the packet to a large mug, add a couple of tablespoons of water from the amount that is called for. Just enough to make a paste from it. I usually let it set there for a moment to let it “soften up” then add super hot water. Don’t microwave, trust me it’s a mess. As you add your boiling water stir, stir!!! Stir like your life depends on it. The outcome is super yummy and I didn’t need to add anything to it. But the directions are a tad deceiving.
Chai Latte ~ Treat this the same as the cappuccino. Make a paste while you are heating the water, using a portion of the water intended for the recipe. Then add the paste by the spoonful to the water, mixing it in completely each time. Its really yummy so worth the extra time that it will take to make.
